Getting Tresorit up and running on a Windows PC is a standard procedure: download an installer, run it, follow the instructions presented by a setup wizard. When you’re done with the installation, you will be invited to sign in with an existing account or sign up for a new account. As mentioned above, you can create a free account and get 5GB of cloud storage for free.

When you run Tresorit for the first time, you will be presented with a 6-step welcome prompt. It will tell you that the application stores data in encrypted containers called tresors, that you can turn folders into secure tresors, that you can see recently changed giles from the system tray icon, that you can sync and share files, that you can set permissions for shared files, and that you can use Tresorit on your mobile.

Tresorit’s dashboard lists all the tresors you created. These are secure containers for your data; any file that is placed in a tresor is automatically uploaded to the cloud. You can easily access your tresors from Windows Explorer, delete tresors from the cloud, or share tresors with others.
