Most cloud storage applications encrypt your data only during the transferring process. Once it reaches the cloud server, the data is decrypted back, which leaves it vulnerable. Tresorit aims to fix this issue, by leaving your data encrypted in the cloud. The files you store in the cloud will be inaccessible to anyone, except you and the people whom you share it with.

In terms of functionality, Tresorit is similar to other cloud storage applications, like Dropbox or Google Drive, but it also comes with a user interface, on which you may control the file synchronization feature, create share links and more. Once it is up and running on your Mac, the application will automatically create a default sync folder, but you can add new ones yourself. All you have to do is target existing folders, on the application's user interface.

Sync folders are listed together with a few controls, for enabling and disabling the synchronization feature for those individual folders, for sharing them with contacts, viewing the recent activity in those folders and more. Like with other similar applications, when you store one or more files into a sync folder, Tresorit will upload them to the cloud right away, as long as the Sync feature is turned on for that folder.

Uploaded files are heavily encrypted, making them inaccessible, even to the application's developers. You can let other users see your files by sharing them, via email invitation or direct link, which is also encrypted. If you share a folder via email invitation, you can choose specific contacts and assign different privileges to each one.

You can access your Tresorit online account on a web browser, not to manage your files, but to view and adjust your security measures. Besides viewing general statistics, like used storage, you can also add a new layer of security, by linking a mobile device to your account. As an extra security measure, Tresorit can detect and list failed login attempts, so you will know if someone tries to access your account.

Pros

The application allows you to enable and disable the synchronization feature for specific folders. Uploaded files are heavily synchronized. You can share your folders with specific contacts and assign different privileges.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention. Due to its powerful security measures, you can think of Tresorit as an impenetrable fortress for your data.
